Notes for Lectures 1–24

I have a pretty clear idea how the rest of the course should be put into lectures. So I have done a bit more work on the notes and am posting everything I have prepared through Lecture 24.

There are some gaps, which I will fill before we come to each lecture, and I will do some more proof-reading and cosmetics. However, even if there are occasional typos and changes to be made, these notes are close to the eventual finished product. So I think it might help you to have these now — particularly for those of you whose supervisions on Sheets 2, 3, 4 arise sooner that we reach that point in lectures.
